Have worn mine out and about. Didn't go out of my way to make it more noticeable though. I'm sure if you looked, you could tell something was there.

I’ve worn a cage under my pants out public many times but it wasn’t obvious I was wearing one.
I’ve also been to a public textile beach wearing a cage under my thong swimsuit where it was much more noticeable…even took my suit off for a few minutes when no one was around
